Don't Go Mad
Staying Ahead in the Digital World
Don't Go Mad is the personal website of Robert Anderson.
Robert worked for a fair few years as a TV journalist and producer, latterly at Sky News, before helping develop social and commercial content strategy at Sky and then ultimately crossing to the “dark side”. He was Head of Digital in Weber Shandwick at McCann Worldgroup before moving to the VCCP Partnership where he spent over a decade as Executive Director of Social Media, Content and Influencer Marketing for Good Relations. He now runs social media marketing across NatWest Group.
He sometimes uses these pages and social media to express personal views and opinions– his employer does not necessarily share them.
So now you know.

Why 'Don't Go Mad'?
Early in my career I made a commercial video with a well known chef who would add seasoning and other ingredients liberally - "add plenty, but don't go mad", he would constantly say. The thought of doing plenty but not going too far seemed a good way of describing an approach to early social media activities, testing and learning before rushing in. It still rings true today in many ways.
